Dave Taggart
David has been a devotee of recumbent bikes since the early 1990's, currently riding a Vision R45 he's owned since 1993, and a new Volae tandem he rides with his wife, Terry Burko. Together they log about 1,500 miles each year. When he's not on a bike, David is a professional musician – playing viola with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for the last 33 years.
David is an eleven year survivor of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and started writing a "family & friends" newsletter during treatment, under the pen name "Chemo-Sabe". A colleague and breast cancer survivor told him about the Scenic Shore 150, and he has been riding it since 2004. He started Team Chemo-Sabe the next year, as a way to have some familiar faces to ride with... and the Team has grown into a significant force in raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
